Slowly but surely, Kanye West should realize that he is no longer welcome due to the antisemitic, racist and hateful remarks he made recently across multiple forums. After the recent contract cancellations with Adidas, Balenciaga, CAA, MRC and Gap, Skechers USA now released a statement in which it reports that West appeared unannounced and without invitation at one of Skechers’ corporate offices in Los Angeles. Noting that West, aka ”Ye,” was filming without permission, two Skechers executives escorted him and his group out of the building after a brief conversation. Skechers also clarified that the company does not consider or intend to work with West. “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
At the same time, media reports indicate that Foot Locker and Gap announced they were pulling Yeezy products from their stores following Adidas’ move on Tuesday to end the partnership. A spokesperson for Foot Locker said on social media: “Foot Locker, Inc. does not tolerate any form of antisemitism or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with Adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections – we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites.”
As for West’s finances, it appears he’s no longer a billionaire after his verbal lapses. A little over a year ago, West reportedly owned $6.6 billion, but according to Forbes, his worth is “only” estimated at around $400 million after various terminated collaborations. According to the report, this sum is made up of real estate holdings, his music catalog and a stake in the shapewear brand of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The biggest cut in West’s fortune was the end of his business relationship with the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas.
