Columbia Sportswear says its work with GXO is part of a wider rework of how it distributes products in Europe, aimed at consistent service across sales channels. The contract logistics provider, which now runs the main continental hub, says the shared roadmap targets greater agility.

GXO Logistics has taken over operation of the Cambrai distribution center in northern France for Columbia Sportswear, under a 10-year partnership announced Sept. 29. The contract logistics provider now runs the site end to end.

Cambrai is Columbia’s main hub serving continental Europe, handling online orders, store replenishment and wholesale shipments. GXO will manage the full flow through the site, from inbound goods and storage to order processing and delivery to markets across Europe.

The two companies prepared the handover jointly, aiming to avoid service interruptions and to integrate employees at the site. According to GXO, they have also agreed a multi-year plan intended to make Columbia’s European supply chain more agile.

Columbia joins a sporting goods client base that already includes Amer Sports, owner of Salomon, Wilson and Arc’teryx. GXO has worked with the group since 2015 and extended the agreement in 2023 to cover returns processing.

In February 2025, GXO widened its work for performance sportswear brand Castore, adding operations in the Netherlands after a UK launch, with US expansion planned. Nike is another customer: GXO runs the brand’s North American returns site in Lebanon, Indiana, according to Inside Indiana Business.
