With distribution already spanning more than 190 countries, U.S. Polo Assn. is strengthening its global product leadership. A menswear design lead from specialty fashion is part of what the company calls an elevated brand plan, built to make its collections compete on design as well as reach.
U.S. Polo Assn., the official sports brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), has named David Swetman as Global Design Lead, Men’s and Boys’. The appointment is in line with the brand’s strategy to bolster its Global Product Leadership Team as it expands globally.
Swetman previously worked for 18 years at Abercrombie & Fitch, where he helped define the global creative direction for menswear, most recently serving as Senior Concept Designer, Global Menswear. In his new role at U.S. Polo Assn, he will lead the global design vision and product direction for all men’s and boys’ apparel across the U.S. Polo Assn. brand worldwide. His responsibilities will include product design direction, concept development, trend forecasting, category innovation and seasonal storytelling across all men’s and boys’ U.S. Polo Assn. collections.

J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global, commented: “David’s experience translating consumer insights into building successful global collections and contributing to one of the industry’s most notable brand transformations makes him an outstanding addition to our team as we execute our elevated brand plan and goal of $4 billion in global retail sales.”
U.S. Polo Assn. has worldwide distribution through more than 1,200 U.S. Polo Assn. retail stores as well as thousands of additional points of distribution.
