adidas and New York streetwear retailer Kith launch a joint football capsule on May 29, pairing four era-specific match kits and archive footwear revivals with tailored suits, denim, and a randomized autographed trading card mechanic.

Two decades after signing Lionel Messi in 2006, adidas is marking the footballer’s 20th international anniversary with a capsule collection made with New York-based streetwear retailer Kith, which is also celebrating its 15th anniversary. The capsule, launched May 29, pairs on-pitch product with lifestyle apparel, moving from match kits to tailored suiting and washed denim.

From match kits to full wardrobe

The collection includes four era-referencing kits built around Messi’s early-career No. 19 and his now-standard No. 10. They are offered as full match sets with shorts and goalkeeper versions. Alongside the football kits, the collection expands into off-pitch categories including suiting, knitwear, denim and travel pieces, unified by KXVH anniversary branding.

Adidas is following the template Nike’s Jordan Brand set for extending performance heritage into broader wardrobes. Kith brings a streetwear audience accustomed to higher price points and frequent limited-edition collaborations.

From footwear to collectibles:

The capsule also adds a collectibles element. Customers who buy a jersey or a pair of shoes will receive a limited-edition trading card, and fewer than 100 PSA-graded autographed Messi cards will be randomly inserted into select orders.
