A limited edition of red mini-footballs went on sale at Adidas stores worldwide and on www.adidas.com today as part of a program intended to bring the positive impact of sport and play to children in disadvantaged communities around the world, in cooperation with an international humanitarian organization called Right to Play.
The proceeds from the sale of the little balls will go to support Right to Play projects around the globe. Furthermore, more than 100,000 full-sized red balls will be donated by the Adi Dassler Fund for use in more than 20 countries where Right to Play has programs
Adidas’ stores will showcase the work that the Right to Play organization is doing in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Employees at these stores will act as Right to Play ambassadors. The organization strives to empower individuals to look after themselves and after their communities.
Zinedine Zidane, the famous now retired French football star sponsored by Adidas, will team up with the Adi Dassler Fund as a key driver of the Right to Play initiative. In late July, Adidas and Right to Play will expand the initiative to the USA by involving Major League Soccer and its stadiums.
