Peak Performance, the Swedish outdoor and winter sports apparel brand, picked ProAm Sport, a company in the Mega Sport group in Barcelona, to distribute its products in Spain and Andorra from the start of June. This company already markets brands from Rossignol to Dynastar, Lange, Haglöfs and FitFlop, among others.
Peak Performance was previously sold in Spain through an agent but it hopes to expand faster through a distributor who has resources to invest in marketing and retailing. A Peak Performance store is to open in Andorra by the end of August, and two more should be opened in San Sebastian and Madrid early next year.
Another deal was signed in May with PM Sport, a leading sports distributor in Poland, which deals with Rossignol and Quiksilver, among others. Peak Performance worked with the same company in the past but pulled out of Poland altogether five years ago as the relationship between PM Sport and Quiksilver became tighter.
The partnership between PM Sport and Peak Performance has resumed with a five-year plan that calls for several store openings. The retail investments will start with two shop-in-shops in Krakow and a third one in Zakopane, all by October. Furthermore, the brand is to be sold through multi-brand stores that PM Sport will start opening after the summer.
Another country explored by Peak Performance is South Korea, where the brand signed a distribution agreement with LS Networks earlier this year. This company, which is involved in industries from cars to real estate, already sells Jack Wolfskin and MontBell, the Japanese outdoor brand. The partnership calls for about 30 Peak Performance stores to be opened in South Korea in the next four years, starting with a store in Seoul later this year.
LS Networks is also preparing to build up its own retail network, Walk & Talk, which will combine outdoor and lifestyle products. Its offering will prominently include outdoor and sports brands distributed by LS Networks.
