Pentland Brands has announced five new partnerships with charity organizations, based in both the U.K. and abroad, which will last until 2021. Pentland Brands is the name behind Speedo, Berghaus, Ellesse, Kickers and other well-known sports, outdoor and fashion brands.

The new charities were all chosen by Pentland's employees, based on the work of these organizations in support of disadvantaged communities. More specifically, the new partnerships will be focusing on women from disadvantaged backgrounds, to help them reach their potential, as well as young people in the U.K. to inspire them to be more active.

The new partners include Emerging Leaders, an organization which offers leadership training that empowers people to take control of their future. Pentland's collaboration with this charity will enable the introduction of its leadership programs to the workers of two factories in Cambodia.

Meanwhile, the partnership between Pentland and the British Council will focus on educational opportunities, with Pentland supporting the development of online learning resources to access the craft sector targeting young people, especially women, in Thailand. Pentland will also support the project of United Purpose, which uses sport to teach employment skills to young people living in the slums of Mumbai, India.

Also, Pentland's partnership with Panathlon, which provides sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities, will allow the expansion of Panathlon's swim program to involve more than 5,000 disabled swimmers and 1,000 young leaders over three years. Finally, Pentland will be collaborating with SportInspired, a charity that tackles the issue of childhood obesity in disadvantaged communities, to support sports festivals and outreach programs in four locations across the U.K.: Blackburn, London, Nottingham and Sunderland.
