Fabletics, the workout apparel brand, announced it will enter resale in the U.S. as part of its broader strategy to become more environmentally conscious. Last year, Fabletics implemented carbon neutrality in all of its stores, replaced plastic shipping bags with bags made from recycled materials, and released an environmentally conscious capsule made entirely from recycled or upcycled materials for Earth Day. Leveraging ThredUp’s Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) platform, Fabletics offers its U.S. members ThredUP Clean Out Kits online and in-store to responsibly declutter and refresh their closets. Members fill their kits with clothing, shoes and accessories from any brand and send them to thredUP for free. ThredUP pays sellers for items that meet quality standards and can be sold in the form of Fabletics Credits, which are automatically added to the seller’s Fabletics account and can be redeemed online or in-store for up to 12 months. Fabletics VIP members receive additional reward points and ThredUP sellers can convert earned ThredUP credits into Fabletics credits. Fabletics has a presence in the U.S., Canada and most European countries and has 57 brick-and-mortar stores and more than 2 million members worldwide. There was no information available on whether the resale program will expand to markets other than the U.S.
