Aetrex, a New Jersey-based specialist in foot scanning technology and data-driven orthotics and comfort footwear, announced its partnership with ski boot manufacturer DaleBoot. Using Aetrex’s Albert 2 Pro foot scanning technology, DaleBoot will transition from manually measuring customers’ feet to using automated 3D foot scan data to design custom ski boots. This will improve fit accuracy and customer satisfaction and reduce the conversion rate during a compact winter shopping season.

DaleBoot said it chose Aetrex technology for its accuracy and ease of use. Aetrex’s scanners use a pure computer vision model to create a precise 3D reconstruction of the foot. DaleBoot customers perform a 20-second foot scan with the Albert 2 Pro and answer questions about their skiing experience, previous ski boot complaints and preferred snow conditions. DaleBoot then uses the data from the 3D foot scan and the customer’s input to develop a pair of customized ski boots in less than a week with a custom-fitted shell, a fully tailored liner and balanced balance and alignment in the boot and on the ski.

As of August 2023, Aetrex scanners are currently being used in 8 DaleBoot stores, including Salt Lake City, USA, and Kitzbühel, Austria. The company plans to deploy Aetrex foot scanners in all 60 distribution points in ski stores worldwide.

Founded in 1969, DaleBoot specializes in designing and manufacturing custom high-performance ski boots. With its factory and North American headquarters in Salt Lake City and European headquarters in Kitzbühel, DaleBoot offers worldwide coverage through its exclusive retail partner network.
