Amazon Prime members purchased more than 300 million items worldwide during Prime Day 2022. This made this year’s event the largest Prime Day event in Amazon’s history. Amazon disclosed in a press release that the savings Prime members achieved thanks to Prime Day amounted to more than $1.7 billion, more than any other Prime Day event before. This year was the biggest Prime Day event for Amazon’s retail partners, most of whom are small and mid-sized businesses whose sales growth in Amazon’s store outpaced Amazon’s retail business. Customers spent more than $3 billion on more than 100 million small business items entered in the U.S. ”Support Small Businesses to Win Big” sweepstakes. Sporting goods were not among the top products on Prime Day 2022, which speaks for the stability and sales channels of our industry.
