Outdoor Research (OR), the Seattle-based brand of functional outdoor, tactical and medical apparel, announced a new leadership structure late last month with an industry veteran, Roger Barton, taking the helm of the company. For the past two years, Barton led all aspects of finance and operations at OR, helping the company to reach record results. He previously held senior operating and financial roles at Marmot over a 24-year period. The current president of OR, Michelle Wardian, has been promoted to president and chief strategy officer of Youngone America, the U.S. subsidiary of Youngone Corporation, the South Korean manufacturer of outdoor and athletic apparel that acquired control of OR in 2014. She has been running OR since Youngone’s investment and she will continue to serve on OR’s board of directors.
