Crocs and industrial designer Salehe Bembury announced a two-year partnership in which the visionary designer will serve the brand as creative director of the Crocs x Pollex Pod collection. He will work with the team to further develop his signature Crocs Pollex design and incorporate new silhouettes and colorways into the collection. The company first worked with Bembury to introduce the Pollex Clog in 2021. For the release, Crocs broke from the mold of its iconic Classic Clog and created a new silhouette that resulted in some of the fastest global sales for a Crocs collaboration. Following the success of the first version, Crocs and Bembury released seven new colorways of the Pollex Clog in 2022.
Bembury is a renowned designer who says he looks at products from the consumer’s point of view. He combines innovation and utility to bring to life a modern design language that resonates with new audiences. As with many of Crocs’ collaborations, the brand’s relationship with Bembury began authentically with an Internet conversation that evolved into a true partnership. When Crocs reached out to Bembury via Instagram direct message and offered to send him shoes, he responded by asking if the brand could consider a collaboration. Crocs was inspired by Bembury’s interest in changing the shape of the Classic Clog, and as they say, the rest is history. The rest is history.
The first new silhouettes in the Pollex Pod collection will be released this spring. The designs will be inspired by the original Pollex Clog motif as the two continue to explore how Bembury’s signature fingerprint comes to life in 3D form.
