Coinciding with the start of the COP26 conference on the climate in Glasgow, Pentland Brands released a set of new commitments to support people and the planet for the year 2032, when it will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its business. The company’s “100-1-0positive business strategy sets out three major targets to be reached by 2032:

  • To help 100 million consumers live positive, active, sustainable lifestyles
  • To improve the lives of one million people in its communities
  • To be a net zero business by 2032

The group’s brands – including Speedo, Berghaus, Ellesse, Endura, Canterbury and Mitre, “will increase their drive to create more sustainable products and services, including those which support emotional and physical wellbeing,” says the company. “They will also accelerate their focus on bringing communities together and supporting causes that matter to their consumers.”

The company, which is owned by the Pentland Group, has already done a lot for people and the environment. It has already committed to 100 percent transparency across its supply chain, to protect human rights and the environment. Pentland Brands now wants to help improve the lives of one million people by 2032 by giving one percent of profits to charities every year and by donating half a million products to those most in need over the next ten years.

To help achieve net zero carbon emissions between 2024 and 2032, the group will use science-based initiatives and offset emissions by planting 50 million trees, while restoring healthy forests and increasing biodiversity.
