Following the London-based retailer’s early 2022 acquisition of The Sports Edit and ongoing investments in growth categories, including sportswear, Marks & Spencer (M&S) has now integrated the dedicated and fast-growing sportswear platform directly into its own marksandspencer.com website.
According to M&S, more than 200 women’s sportswear and apparel products from third-party suppliers such as Beyond Yoga, FP Movement, Girlfriend Collective and YMO, as well as footwear brands Veja and Hoka, were added to the offering. Other leading brands will follow throughout 2023. The brand partners were carefully selected by The Sports Edit and M&S to complement the retailer’s own activewear brand, Goodmove, which was launched in 2020 and has become M&S’s largest own-brand, selling 1.6 million products per year.
M&S says it has identified sportswear as an absolute growth category. As a result, The Sports Edit offers not only products but also sports content curated by experts, where consumers can shop by brand, activity or product type. Purchases can be delivered by post or picked up in over 700 stores to provide customers with a seamless shopping experience.
