Peloton Interactive, weeks after announcing 800 layoffs and on the eve of its fourth-quarter earnings release, has a new distribution deal in place for its bike, guide, select accessories and apparel with Amazon in the U.S. News of the Peloton-Amazon partnership sent shares in the interactive fitness company up 18.5 percent in early trading on Wall Street today. “Expanding our distribution channels through Amazon is a natural extension of our business and an organic way to increase access to our brand,” commented Kevin Cornils, chief commercial officer for Peloton, in a statement. “We want to meet consumers where they are, and they are shopping on Amazon.”

Through the relationship, the original Peloton Bike ($1,445) will be available with in-home delivery. Customers of the product will decide whether to assemble the bike themselves or select an add-on expert assembly option available in most of the U.S. The in-home delivery and expert assembly will be offered at no additional cost. Besides the bike and Peloton Guide ($295), a selection of Peloton garments and 10 accessories will be available to purchase through Amazon.

There is no information yet on whether Peloton will eventually look to expand its Amazon relationship outside the U.S.
