Babolat is introducing a range of racquets conceived, designed and developed for the specific needs of 4–12 year-olds. The range was designed based on input from the French laboratory LIBM (Laboratoire Inter-Universitaire de Biologie et Motricité), which studied what a racquet needs to avoid injuries in a growing body.

LIBM examined more than 300 children from 15 tennis clubs in France to identify the optimal features for the new racquets, including size, balance and grip. Babolat also relied on pedagogic advice from a group of top tennis coaches and advice on psychological and behavioral matters from Court 16, a tennis and pickleball club in New York that offers innovative classes and programs designed for kids and their families. The racquets in the new Babolat kids’ range are named BFly (girls) and Ballfighter (boys).

As part of the launch of these racquets, Spanish coach Toni Nadal taught 30 children how to become champions while playing with Carlos Alcaraz and Dominic Thiem at a special event in Paris on May 26.
