Castore, the young British brand of team sports clothing, is expected to join the race to dress the AS Roma football team, competing with New Balance, and maybe also with Adidas. New Balance was said to have replaced Under Armour as the front-runner in the contest, but according to SportsPro, Castore is going to make an offer in the next few weeks, countering NB’s proposal for the four seasons starting in 2021/22 with a more digitally focused proposition that should give the club access to a wider international audience. This would be in line with the strategy pursued by the club in recent years. Nike is backing out of its €5 million-per-year contract with the club four years earlier than planned. Founded in Liverpool four years ago, Castore, which recently signed up the Rangers in Glasgow, declared last spring that it wanted to partner with three to five major clubs across Europe within the following ten months.
