Under Armour (UA) said it will pursue all business and legal courses of action against Uncle Martian, a Chinese brand accused by UA of plagiarism. The Chinese brand allegedly used a logo very similar to UA's in a recent launch event whose pictures went viral on China's social networks. Similarly to UA's iconic logo, Uncle Martian's features a “U” above an inverted “U,” although its stylized U's do not appear to intersect in the same way they do in UA's logo in order to form an “A.” Uncle Martian's parent company, Fujian Tingfeilong Sports Goods, based in the city of Jinjiang, dismissed all allegations in an interview to China Real Time, saying Uncle Martian's logo does not bear any uncanny resemblance to the one used by UA.
