Ronaldo’s investment in LiveModeTV — a platform distributing live football free on YouTube — adds a distribution-first media asset to a portfolio already spanning Portuguese conglomerate Medialivre and film studio UR-Marv, pointing to a deliberate build-out of audience infrastructure outside pay-TV.
Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a stake in streaming platform LiveModeTV. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. LiveModeTV was introduced in Ronaldo’s native Portugal in December 2025 by Brazil-based LiveMode, marking its first digital channel outside Brazil.
LiveModeTV is set to stream 34 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 for free on YouTube across June and July, including all games featuring Portugal.
“We’re proud to announce that Cristiano Ronaldo is the newest partner of LiveModeTV. Together, we’re bringing live football to YouTube in a new way, with fans at the center of everything,” said LiveModeTV on Instagram.
Ronaldo, 41, currently plays for both Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr and the Portuguese national team. The football icon also holds several investments under his own CR7 brand and a large investment portfolio spanning various sectors. In football, he has invested in Spanish club UD Almería. He has backed artificial intelligence firm Perplexity, as well as Pestana Hotel Group, Insparya hair transplant clinics, porcelain manufacturer Vista Alegre, and HBL Pro2col Software, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Herbalife. In the media sector, Ronaldo has stakes in Portuguese media conglomerate Medialivre and film studio UR-Marv, a joint venture with British filmmaker Matthew Vaugh that aims to merge the world of elite athletics with Hollywood cinema.
