Adidas has inaugurated a circular-fashion program, called “Choose to Give Back.” The German brand is inviting customers to earn rewards from its Creator’s Club by returning used apparel and accessories from any brand for resale or re-use. It works through a combination of Adidas’ Creator’s Club app and ThredUp’s Reseale-as-a-Service platform. Customers use the app to generate a Clean Out Kit prepaid shipping label, under which they send in apparel or accessories of any category. These are sold or else transferred to ThredUp’s network firms that re-use textiles. The program made its debut on Oct. 7, and it will be expanded, online and in stores, early next year. Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Madewell, Rent the Runway and Fabletics are also using ThredUp’s platform.
