VF Corp’s fourth sustainability and responsibility report says the group will achieve zero waste verification at all its warehouses and distribution centers by the end of this year, compared with 72 percent at present. This would mean that at least 95 percent of their waste will be diverted from landfills. By 2025, 100 percent of the electricity used at its own and operated facilities will come from renewable sources, up from 29 percent now. Also by 2025, VF will have eliminated single-use plastic packaging across the group – a goal due to be attained by Vans as of this year and by Icebreaker in 2023. By 2025, VF will also have switched to cotton grown only in the U.S. or Australia or under a third-party sustainable scheme practiced elsewhere. The ratio currently stands at 75 percent of the cotton it uses. The report, which can be downloaded here, makes other pledges for products, people and company culture, among others.
