We have already reported on Decathlon’s partnerships with other retailers, including Fnac in France and Switzerland, Manor in Switzerland and Walmart and Target in the U.S. A Swiss online retailer, Galaxus, has now agreed to offer some of Decathlon’s private label products on its own platform, starting with the Swiss market.

The focus is on the outdoor sector, with more than 1,000 items being sold on Galaxus under Decathlon’s Quechua brand. Other sports include fitness equipment, cycling, water sports, winter sports, basketball and table tennis. Galaxus says its sales of sporting goods have been growing strongly in the last few years, especially in the fitness segment. The company also has a German and an Austrian web store, but they will not be offering Decathlon products until further notice.

Galaxus, whose range of more than 3.7 million products also covers household items and many other types of consumer goods, had revenues of 2.12 billion Swiss francs (€2.05bn-$2.32bn) last year with over 2.3 million unique visitors in Switzerland and Lichtenstein alone.

Decathlon offers rentals in the U.K.

Like in its domestic French market, Decathlon is offering some of its products for rental in the U.K. as well. The company has formed a new partnership with a four-year-old British clothing rental platform, Hirestreet, starting with a collection of 18 different styles of high-performance ski and hiking jackets and pants for women in various sizes. Prices started from £15 (€17.83-$20.17) for a four-day period, allowing more people to afford a ski holiday abroad.

The product range is expected to be expanded in the future. The two partners see their collaboration as a way to make sports more accessible and of reducing the impact on the planet.

Hirestreet already manages clothing rentals for some 50 other partners including Asos, French Connection, Ghost, Nobody’s Child and Marks and Spencer.
