Decathlon has appointed Javier López as chief global value chain officer. López has been with the company for over 23 years, holding executive roles and positions in logistics, IT and retail. For the past seven years, he served as CEO of Decathlon Spain. This role will be taken over by Borja Sánchez, currently at the helm of Decathlon Colombia. Sanchez joined Decathlon in 2005.

Decathlon posted sales of nearly €14 billion, excluding taxes, in 2021, representing a 21 percent growth at constant exchange rates compared with 2020. Digital sales accounted for around 21 percent of the company’s revenues, up 30 percent from 2020. Decathlon is present in 70 countries, with nearly 1,800 stores and over 100,000 employees.
