Stine Trygg-Hauger

Stine Trygg-Hauger will step down as managing director of XXL Sport & Villmark in May 2023. At the same time, the new XXL group CEO Freddy Sobin will take over from Pål Wibe, who stepped down earlier this year.

Trygg-Hauger has led the sports chain’s Norwegian operations since June 2021. She came from a similar position at Clas Ohlson Norway. After her departure from XXL, she will start as a chain director at Vinmonopolet, the state-owned enterprise that holds the national monopoly for selling alcoholic beverages in Norway. She said in a statement that she had to choose between two very exciting roles in retail and is now looking forward to contributing to Vinmonopolet being in demand for another 100 years.

XXL is present in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Austria. At group level, XXL generated sales of NOK 10 billion (€954m) last year, of which NOK 4.9 billion was in Norway.
