Intersport International Corp. (IIC) has officially announced the appointment of Denis Levet, who has worked for Salomon since 2004, as the retail organization’s new general manager of mountain sports. The 44-year-old French native, who started his career at Decathlon 18 years ago, will replace Matthias Klopfenstein in the role next January. Klopfenstein will leave at the end of October to join Specialized Europe as market leader. Salomon says it has yet to name a successor for Levet, who has been leading the brand’s global alpine skiing equipment business unit since 2018. He had previously held other positions at Salomon such as product line manager, brand manager for outdoor and snowsports, and product commercial director.
