Ecco’s CEO, Steen Borgholm, stepped down from his post on Aug. 20 “by mutual agreement” after four years and more than two decades with the Danish footwear company. He will be replaced by Panos Mytaros, who has been with the company for 27 years, taking care mainly of the production apparatus. Mytaros started his career with a Dutch tannery group, from where he joined Ecco Indonesia as tannery director. In 2002, he established the Ecco Leather Group, based in the Netherlands. In 2011, he became a member of Ecco’s executive board. Meanwhile, Thomas Gøgsig has become a member of Ecco’s executive board. He joined the company in 2012 and became manager of research and innovation in 2013. He was appointed head of applied research in 2015 and vice president and head of marketing in 2018. Mads Fink Eriksen has also been appointed to the board. He has worked for the company for 10 years, first in China, followed by several years in Singapore at Ecco’s global production headquarters. He then spent three years at the headquarters in Denmark as head of corporate finance. In 2018, he moved to Australia, where he restructured Ecco’s sales organization. In 2020, he was appointed chief financial officer of the group. Ecco’s head of sales, Michel Krol, remains a member of the board. He has worked for the company for 21 years. He was the managing director of Ecco Benelux before being promoted to director for Europe and then head of Ecco EMEA. In 2011, he joined the executive board, heading global sales.
