Forum Sport closed out 2018 with its sixth consecutive year of growth and record revenues of €152 million, up by 5.3 percent from the previous year. Last year, in addition to opening five new stores under the Dooers banner – its brand of sneaker stores – the Spanish sports retailer invested heavily in omni-channel retailing, softening the distinction between offline and online to allow customers to decide how and where to buy or return merchandise. The company is also instituting a new store concept with a curated, technological aesthetic. For example, it is boosting the presence of its staff on the sales floor, ensuring that they are themselves practicing athletes and supplying them with digital devices to check stock and specifications in real time. The redesigned stores will also serve to host events, talks, workshops and pop-up shops. The new concept was launched in November with the reopening of a store in the Boulevard de Vitoria shopping center in Vitoria-Gasteiz, a city in the Basque Country. The next one will open this summer at the La Brexta shopping center in San Sebastian. Forum Sport operates in 11 autonomous communities of Spain with 49 directly operated stores, one franchise, three outlets, 13 Dooers stores and an e-commerce site.
