JD Sports Fashion has started an exclusive partnership in the U.K. with OOOOO Entertainment Commerce to develop market-leading video commerce content on its young rapidly growing platform.
OOOOO describes itself as a technology platform that enables retailers, brands and influencers to share product-based opinions directly to consumers through live, interactive, shoppable videos. The platform also offers gamification and social features that reward the community in order to grow the user base, reducing the need for traditional ad networks.
After launching some live shows in July, the two partners have agreed to extend their partnership to other products and categories, indicating that their collaboration may also be extended to other markets in Europe and North America where JD does business.
Founded last November by Sam Jones and Eric Zhang, who previously worked with Wish and TikTOk, respectively, OOOOO Entertainment Commerce currently has offices also in Oxford, England and Shanghai. The company says it has already seen over 300,000 installations to date, onboarding leading brands in the fashion, sport, beauty and wellness sectors.
Its platform uses a multitude of languages and targets the younger generations. Noting that interactive video commerce continues to explode as a mega-trend in China, where it is estimated to reach $305 billion this year, according to Forbes, OOOOO is focused on delivering a technology platform and app intended to embrace the growing live stream economy.
The company, which was formerly called Evermount Ventures, started trading its subordinate voting shares on the TSX Venture Exchange of the Toronto Stock Exchange on July 22.
