After first signing a a “Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR)” agreement with the Swiss company Climeworks in Feb. 2023, Mammut is continuing its partnership with the direct air capture technology maker via a challenge on its Strava channel. Mammut is calling on members of its Strava club to run a minimum of 100 km in May, and 10,000,000 km collectively. Climeworks will then remove 10 tons of CO2 from the air.
The online challenge is also supported with running meet-ups and segments in cities across Europe. To further extend the CSR and marketing action, finishers will receive a 20 percent discount off both Mammut gear and CO2 removal with Climeworks, as well as the chance to win one of Mammut’s decarbonized trail running outfits.
