New Balance has opened a new global experience retail store in Barcelona, in line with the firm's push to expand its global retail presence. The new outlet, which measures a total of 375 square meters, is located in the high-end Rambla De Catalunya area. The store's internal design has been engineered by New Balance's in-house design team to depict the brand's 107 years of history, with a New Balance DNA ribbon stretching through the store. The ribbon uses vintage and modern images, from the New Balance history of manufacturing up to its current technology-led “Runnovation” campaigns. The design concept is themed around performance, with references to a stadium, and track and arena reminiscent of the grit of an urban environment. The new outlet will offer the brand's range of performance running shoes as well as its lifestyle models including the “Made in the UK” and “Made in the USA” collections, manufactured in the U.K. and the U.S. The store will also offer an exclusive Barcelona edition of the iconic 991 Made in the UK shoe to complement the official launch celebrations. The company opened its first experience store in Beijing in August 2009 and more recently, other experience stores in New York City, in August 2011, and Boston, in April 2012.
