Nike has reissued a statement to confirm that it will continue to support Lance Armstrong, in spite of USADA's recently released 200-page report accusing him of doping while he was on the US Postal Service cycling team, between 1998 and 2005. The sportswear giant had previously ensured its ongoing support to the champion after he was banned last August for life and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. Armstrong, who has repeatedly stated his innocence, has nonetheless decided not to challenge the report. Nike plans to continue to support Armstrong, who has been with Nike since 1996, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which he founded in 1997 to fight cancer and which has since raised more than $470 million. Nike markets 33 running products in Britain and 98 in the U.S. which bear the distinctive yellow Livestrong brand, associated with the foundation. RadioShack, the U.S. electronics retailer, also stood by Armstrong, although it ended a relationship with Johan Bruyneel, Armstrong's former manager at the US Postal Service team.
