Pentland will be using Segura’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) package to map and monitor the entirety of its supply chain for “transparency and traceability.” The system will also serve to ensure that suppliers abide by its principles of sustainability.
Customers will have some view of the results, as Pentland says the system will “help consumers with their buying decisions.”
The initiative forms part of the company’s “100-1-0 sustainability strategy,” which dates to 2021, when the United Nations held its 26th Climate Change Conference (COP26), and has three objectives: “helping 100 million consumers live healthy active, sustainable lives”; “supporting one million people in our communities”; and “reaching net zero.”
Founded in 2012, Segura is headquartered in the UK and has deals with a number of apparel brands, such as Berhaus, Endura, Ellesse and Canterbury. In the world of sporting goods it works with Speedo.
