Puma has agreed on a multi-year licensing deal with the Mini, the iconic small car manufactured and marketed by BMW. The two brands are joining forces to develop a collection of cars, shoes, apparel and accessories named Mini by Puma. A joint statement says the two new partners share values such as fashion, versatile technology and colorful lining. Both brands go for a fusion of lifestyle and sport performance. Like the Mini, the apparel is said to be good-looking on the outside, but comfortable, clever and roomy on the inside. The design is based on British heritage symbols such as the Union Jack and bulldogs. Although there is significant British spice in the new recipe, the joint collection will be marketed in selected Mini dealerships and in stores selling other Puma products globally, starting in September 2012.
