Puma has entered into a partnership with Wagmi-san, a self-described “craftsman” of accessories (virtual streetwear) for parent NFTs. Wagmi-san runs a virtual shop called 10KTF in a metaverse called Neo Tokyo.

In previous reports – such as our recent story on Meta – we have the general metaverse scenario, where a user in the real world enters the metaverse through some kind of interface (virtual or augmented reality) and appears under the guise of an avatar, which the user can dress in virtual apparel. In this case, however, there are pieces of digital art – the parent NFTs – to which Wagmi-san adds accessories in the form of sub-NFTs. It works as follows.
The owner of an NFT goes to the shop to acquire a “blank”: a digital item that, as the 10KTF website explains, is “crafted by Wagmi-san” and ”can be brought back to his shop to be turned into a final finished item,” one that will bear the art of the parent NFT. There are two conditions: first, the parent NFT must belong to a collection supported by 10KTF (0N1 Force, Bored Ape Kennel Club, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cool Cats, CrypToadz by GREMPLIN, CryptoPunks, Gutter Cat Gang, Meebits, Moonbirds, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Nouns, Pudgy Penguin, Forgotten Runes Wizards Cult, Wolf Game, World of Women, World of Women Galaxy); second, the customer must have ownership of both the parent NFT and the blank in the same digital wallet.
Puma had hinted at the partnership by inserting a frame with the storefront and logo into a video promoting the rerelease of a classic sneaker, but the official announcement came at the fourth edition of the crypto conference NFT.NYC, which took place on June 20-23.
Puma says it will be providing further details over the summer.
