Chinese online fashion retailer Shein has opened a new logistics center in Wrocław, Poland, positioning it as the company’s primary distribution hub across Europe and enabling faster deliveries to more than 100 million customers on the continent.
The facility, which launched Dec. 22, will bring the total number of jobs Shein generates in Poland’s Lower Silesia province to at least 5,000, making the retailer one of the region’s largest employers. Shein established its first European logistics operations in the Wrocław area in 2022 and has already created more than 3,000 jobs across its Polish facilities.
Advanced automation accelerates operations
The new logistics center features cutting-edge robotic picking systems and automated sorting lines designed to accelerate throughput and operational efficiency while maintaining strict quality standards. Once fully operational, the site will provide 740,000 square meters of warehouse space in the Wrocław region, making it one of the most technologically advanced e-commerce warehouses in Europe.
Wrocław’s strategic advantages attract investment
Wrocław’s combination of advanced warehouse infrastructure, robust transport links to major European cities and access to a large pool of qualified talent makes it an attractive hub for the logistics industry. The city’s strategic position in Central Europe allows Shein to reach key markets efficiently while continuing to create employment opportunities in the region.
Beyond job creation, Shein collaborates with more than 170 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lower Silesia across transport, packaging and professional services. The new logistics center will also support Polish and European brands selling on Shein’s marketplace, providing them access to high-quality logistics and fulfillment services at competitive rates.
“Thanks to the development of the Shein Hub in our region, thousands of new jobs will be created, making Lower Silesia a leader in modern logistics,” said Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of Lower Silesia. “I am looking forward to this cooperation. It shows enormous trust in the Lower Silesian business community.”
Faster deliveries strengthen European market position
The Poland investment represents a significant milestone in Shein’s European expansion strategy as the retailer seeks to reduce delivery times and improve customer experience across the continent. The company has been building out its logistics network beyond its traditional Asia-based operations to better serve Western markets and compete with established fast fashion players.
By establishing a major European hub, Shein positions itself to respond more quickly to fashion trends and customer demand while potentially reducing shipping costs and environmental impact from long-distance transportation. The automated systems are designed to handle high volumes efficiently during peak shopping periods, a critical capability for a retailer known for rapid product turnover.
The Wrocław facility complements Shein’s existing global logistics network, which includes distribution centers across Asia, the Americas and now a significantly expanded presence in Europe. This infrastructure investment reflects the company’s commitment to scaling operations to meet growing demand from European consumers while maintaining the fast delivery times that online shoppers increasingly expect.
