US rapper, producer, entrepreneur and designer Sean “Diddy” Combs has launched Empower Global (EG), a curated e-commerce platform (for U.S. customers only) that allows consumers to discover and purchase products created and sold exclusively by black entrepreneurs, including a range of activewear and swimwear items. The platform gives black-owned businesses greater reach and enables consumers to shop for the best black-owned beauty, fashion, art and lifestyle brands. With culture and community at its core, EG advances the Black economy by creating opportunities for Black entrepreneurs to build and grow successful businesses by making shopping for Black brands easy and accessible.
Launching July 12, more than 70 brands will be featured on EG, including: Silver & Riley, Actively Black, Scotch Porter, Coco & Breezy, Kultured Misfits, Buttah Skin, Pound Cake, B.M. Franklin & Co, Cise, Cool Creative Clothing, June 79, Rebecca Allen and many more with over 1,000 items now available on the platform and plans to introduce new black businesses each month. The goal is to gradually expand the site to feature over 200 brands by the end of the year.
“My mission has always been to empower Black entrepreneurs and create more opportunities for them to access the resources, tools and support needed to build successful businesses,” said Combs, Chairman of Combs Global. “Empower Global will uplift Black entrepreneurs, keep dollars circulating in our community, and make buying Black a lifestyle.”
EG and UPS are working together to make supporting Black-owned businesses in the U.S. even more accessible through special offers and shipping rates.
Combs announced EG in 2021 and has taken the time to build a world-class website. The new platform was designed and built by TechSparq, a black-owned e-commerce design and development company, and supported by black-owned tech company ChatDesk. Empower Global has a global strategic partnership with Salesforce and is supported by Marketplacer’s online marketplace technology.
