Sundog Eyewear, the high-tech sunglasses brand, has introduced a new range of TrueBlue glasses for golfers that is said to block ultraviolet rays while filtering harmful blue light, also known as “near UV.” Blue light creates veiled glare in the eye and leads to visual fatigue, sometimes artificially produced by exposure to video and mobile display screens. Addtionally, the latest TrueBlue lenses are said to provide golfers with 100 percent UVA/UVB filtration up to 400 meters. Sundog's TrueBlue incorporates both melanin and ocular lens pigment (OLP) to enhance definition, reduce glare and refine protection from natural sunlight. Both melanin and OLP limit the amount of blue light that can reach the retina in the eye. Sundog, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is currently the brand of choice for several high-profile Tour stars, including Paula Creamer, the American professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour, who wears the new TrueBlue Fairway sunglasses.
