With NHL stars returning to the Olympics, Team USA has revealed its Milano Cortina 2026 ice hockey jersey, a design inspired by the 1960 gold-medal team and featuring bold diagonal lettering and a patriotic collar detail.

Team USA has lifted the curtain on its ice hockey jersey for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, blending modern performance wear with a nod to history. The design draws inspiration from the iconic look worn at Squaw Valley in 1960, when the U.S. men’s team captured its first Olympic gold medal.

Design draws from 1960 gold-medal legacy

The jersey features bold diagonal “USA” lettering across the chest, echoing the classic mid-century style, and includes the phrase “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave” inside the collar. The reveal, made on NBC’s Today show by two-time Paralympic sled hockey champion Jack Wallace, comes as anticipation builds for what many expect to be one of the most competitive Olympic hockey tournaments in recent memory. NHL players will return to the Games for the first time since Sochi 2014, adding star power to the men’s event, whilst the rise of the PWHL promises a high-calibre women’s competition.

Unveiling timed with ticket promotion and Paralympic countdown

The unveiling coincided with Milano Cortina’s “Black Friday” ticket promotion and marked 100 days until the start of the Paralympic Games. Organisers also confirmed additional ticket releases for women’s ice hockey and other events, signalling strong demand for marquee competitions.

Fans can expect the new jersey to debut when Team USA hits the ice in February 2026, aiming to reclaim Olympic glory for the first time since the “Miracle on Ice” in 1980.
