Slinger Bag Inc. is rebranding as Connexa Sports Technologies Inc, a connected sports technology company that brings together Slinger, PlaySight Interactive, Ltd, Gameface.ai and Foundation Sports Systems, LLC. As part of the restructuring, Slinger also moved its headquarters from Nevada to Delaware, effective May 16, 2022. With its portfolio of companies and more than one million users on its combined platform, Connexa Sports is focusing on making sports venues “smart” through its connected camera and AI technology while connecting consumers to their sports through breakthrough products and immersive analytics, training and gaming experiences (the company’s “Watch, Play, Learn” business strategy) driven by the integration and application of automated video, 5G, AI, Big Data, OTT content and performance analytics in sports.
Connexa Sports has invested over $50 million to date in proprietary AI, automated video and performance technologies, giving it the capabilities to deliver products and services to key growth areas in sports, including tennis (21 million active players in the U.S. alone, one of the fastest-growing sports with 22 percent year-over-year growth), pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the U.S. (40 percent year-over-year growth), padel with over 12 million players worldwide, baseball and softball with 65 million players combined, and cricket with 300 million players worldwide.
“Collaborative product development across the portfolio brands is already driving innovation within our core sports verticals. As we deepen our offering in tennis, we will look to replicate the connected sports platform model and enter new sports verticals by bringing industry-leading innovation to players and fans by making their sport more accessible and affordable while also building the infrastructure needed by sports organizations, media companies and betting platforms to provide richer data and insights and a better experience to their customers,” said Mike Ballardie, CEO of Connexa Sports.
Additional revenue will be generated through the PlaySight and Foundation Tennis brands. PlaySight will continue to develop software-based automated video capture products for additional team sports, including basketball, soccer and field hockey, leveraging its existing presence in more than 30 sports. Foundation Tennis will continue to offer its SaaS club and facility management platform, which includes bookings, POS through its platform partnership with Square, and social and community features, to the racquet sports market. The Foundation Tennis platform opens up access to the Watch, Play, Learn commercial activities to its members while providing an additional recurring revenue stream.
The company is also updating its ticker symbol on the OTCQB Venture Market in NYC to CNXA.
