About You, Yoox Net-A-Porter and Zalando are joining forces on a bespoke learning platform to support their brand partners in setting climate targets aligned with science, intending to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The customized program, designed to explain the value and process of climate targets, will be available to the brand partners of the three online retailers at no cost. It will provide step-by-step instructions on measuring emissions, set ambitious targets that align with climate science, and submit them for approval to the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative. It will also feature a dedicated space for brands and sustainability experts to engage with one another. The SBTi is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The new learning platform is an industry-led, antitrust-compliant initiative. It is not sponsored by the SBTi, although the content is fully aligned with the latest SBTi guidance and criteria, claim the retailers. The “learning journey” is curated by environmental sustainability consultancy Quantis.
