In a significant move towards sustainability, Adidas has partnered with Canopy, an environmental organization, to uphold eco-conscious practices in its product lines.

Adidas has aligned with Canopy’s CanopyStyle and Pack4Good initiatives, ensuring that its textiles, paper, and packaging materials are sourced responsibly, devoid of fibers sourced from forests critical for climate stability. This commitment also entails transitioning to low-carbon and circular next-gen alternatives for these essential components.

The decision to prioritize eco-friendly practices comes amid growing concern over deforestation, with over 3.4 billion trees felled annually for materials like viscose, rayon, and paper packaging.

Viviane Gut, Senior Director of Sustainability at Adidas, emphasized the company’s dedication to maintaining product excellence while effecting positive ecological change. “Joining with Canopy marks an important stride for adidas in our evolving journey towards sustainability”, Gut stated.

Canopy’s Founder and Executive Director, Nicole Rycroft, hailed Adidas’ partnership as a significant victory for environmental conservation. Rycroft remarked, “Teaming up with Adidas to champion forest protection is a home run for the planet,” highlighting Adidas’ commitment to leading the industry in sustainable practices.
