Crocs has released its third annual Comfort Report, highlighting the company’s progress in corporate responsibility, including initiatives in social responsibility and sustainability.

In the report, the company claims to have reached a “milestone” in material innovation by exceeding a monthly average of 20 percent bio-circular content in its proprietary Croslite compound since August 2023. This has contributed to a 6.1 percent reduction in the Classic Clog’s carbon footprint compared to the 2021 baseline, and Crocs says this is in line with the company’s goals of 50 percent carbon reduction for the product by 2030 and net zero by 2040.

Crocs, which ended 2023 with sales of €3.67 billion and a profit of €735 million, has received a lot of criticism in recent years after abandoning its goal of becoming net zero by 2030. The company says the 2040 goal was a necessity when it bought Heydude in 2021.

In the Comfort Report press release, Deanna Bratter, VP, Global Head of Sustainability, Crocs, says: “We are proud of the progress our teams made in 2023 in support of our Purpose strategy, both in making improvements and strengthening programs to positively impact people and planet.
