With all clubs in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 and a handful of brands, the DFL takes a stand to prevent discrimination in all its forms.

With the motto “Together! Stop the hate. Be a team.” the DFL is once again, for the fourth time, joining forces with Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs as part of its annual campaign to prevent discrimination in all its forms.

The campaign is part of an ongoing commitment by the DFL and the DFL Foundation to promote diversity and prevent discrimination in modern football. These campaigns have been in operation since 2012. Last year saw the introduction of the current motto: “Together! Stop the hate. Be a team.” Before that, the message was ‘Stop Racism’. The #BundesligaWIRKT platform provides an overview of the commitment made by the DFL and its clubs.

The ‘Together!’ campaign will run parallel to an international initiative taking place between March 17 and 30 and two rounds of this year’s Bundesliga season.

Partners of the DFL and the DFL Foundation will once again be supporting the ‘TOGETHER!’ campaign. These include Derbystar, Distorted People, EA Sports, Milka, Topps, Funny Frisch, Tipico, Kickbase, KickIn, Sporthilfe and Deutsche Sportjugend. Derbystar, the official provider of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 match balls, will issue special edition versions featuring the ‘Together!’ logo for Matchday 27.

Bundesliga club Hannover 96 and Macron are one of many initiatives against racism in German club football, where the DFL, together with the clubs, takes a stand against racism. In a demonstration of solidarity, the Hannover 96 players Muroya, Gindorf, and Ngankam, representing all facets of the 96 team, spoke about their motivations for being part of this campaign.

Besides the official campaign partners, the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs have joined in and created various sub-campaigns, sometimes together with their kit partners, such as Bundesliga 2 club Hannover 96. Under the slogan “Love Hannover, hate racism,” Macron and the club have created a special edition of the Hannover 96 shirt to be worn during March 17 and 30 when playing. On a white background appears the slogan. The backneck features the motto “Niemals allein!” (“Never alone!”).

In a demonstration of solidarity, the Hannover 96 players Muroya, Gindorf and Ngankam, representing all facets of the 96 team, spoke about their motivations for being part of this campaign. Moreover, the club’s management has noted that the proceeds from the sales of the jersey will go towards initiatives aimed at furthering education and awareness about the impact of racism and the importance of diversity in sports. As part of their commitment to social responsibility, Hannover 96 hopes to make a tangible impact not only through awareness but also through action, supporting various anti-racism charities and campaigns.

The ‘Special Edition’ Hannover 96 shirt was produced, like all game sets made by Macron for its club partners, in Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester material made from post-consumer recycled plastic. Specifically, the fabric used for this kit is Eco Softlock with a back panel in Eco Baimi and inserts in Eco Mesh that make the garment lighter and more breathable.

Hamburg club St. Pauli is well-known for its engagement in equal rights and its work against discrimination. The club has for this season and the DFL campaign produced a video where they celebrate their stand against racism.
