Puma is introducing its new RE.GEN collection, a range of footwear, apparel and accessories made from Puma’s own industry waste and other recycled materials. The RE.GEN collection incorporates three kinds of recycled material: leather off-cuts from Puma’s own production, cotton off-cuts from the greater textile industry, and polyester made from recycled plastic. Apparel styles are made with recycled polyester or at least 20 percent recycled cotton while all footwear features a minimum of 20 percent recycled material on the upper. The recycling process also influences design features. An all-over print on items in the apparel line includes a pattern that is inspired by broken down plastic. Meanwhile, juxtaposed fabric mixes and unexpected cut lines that appear throughout the collection are inspired by upcycling. Every piece in the RE.GEN collection features a recycled TPU badge and a label telling the story of the product. The collection was launched in two drops, on March 18 and April 22.
