Descente's net income fell by 28 percent to 5,650 million yen (€45.9m-51.2m) in the year ended March 31. Sales dropped by 3 percent to ¥131.5 billion (€1.1bn-$1.2bn), and the Japanese group attributed this to the strong yen and economic stagnation in Korea. They were flat at ¥54.4 billion (€442.6m-$492.6m) in Japan. They rose by 25 percent in the Americas and Europe to ¥4.4 billion (€35.8m-$39.8m), but they fell by 7 percent in the rest of Asia to 72.7 billion (€591.5m-$658.3m). By brand, Descente grew by 5 percent to ¥50.0 billion (€406.9m-$468.9m), Le Coq Sportif declined by 13 percent to ¥38.6 billion (€314.2m-$349.7m), Arena was flat at ¥7.0 billion (€56.9m-$63.4m) and Umbro slipped by 4 percent to ¥6.7 billion (€54.5m-$60.7m).
