Vaha, a German start-up that launched an interactive mirror for home fitness in 2019, has announced its launch in the U.K. It is the first fitness mirror of the kind to be launched in the U.K., according to the company, referring to the competing systems by Lululemon and others. The launch includes the Vaha X and the Vaha S, a slightly smaller version with the same features. Vaha’s interactive mirror can be used like a smart TV set with a touchscreen. The mirror showcases real personal trainers who accompany the user in a virtual mode through more than 200 different workouts. Artificial intelligence allows to track the athlete’s movements and enables real-time correction of the exercises in front of the mirror. Furthermore, the user can take part in live courses and be virtually linked to other users. Vaha has attracted investments from Porsche Ventures and Unbound, among others, as reported by SGI Europe at the end of 2020. Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper who plays with both Bayern Munich and the Germany national team, is also a partner.
