Dorel Sports has modified the marketing team that oversees the cycling brands Cannondale, GT and Fabric, promoting Nick Larsen to the position of vice president of global creative and Dennis Kim to vice president of global marketing. Larsen has spent the past 18 months setting a new course for Cannondale, working on marketing campaigns, the selection of athletes to sponsor, product colors, graphics, a new wordmark and an overhaul of the brand's website, to be launched later this year. Aside from the two years or so that he spent at the design consultancy Epoch Design, Larsen's career has revolved around cycling, with design-related posts at Pashley Cycles, Gate Eight and Charge Bikes. Dennis Kim joined Cannondale in 2018 and immediately began working with Larsen on the new Cannondale. He will continue to lead the brand's global marketing while assuming the same duties with GT brand. Kim has worked in sports marketing, brand strategy and retail for the cycling brand Sugoi and Sombrio as well as for the Vancouver Canucks, the 2010 Olympic Games, Aritzia and the Canadian Olympic Committee. According to Peter Woods, Dorel Sports' president and chief executive, “by the end of 2019, Cannondale will have launched 14 new or updated bike platforms, and GT will have released eight.” In addition to Cannondale and GT, Dorel Sports owns the Schwinn, Mongoose and Caloi cycling brands. The company is a segment of Dorel Industries, which has annual sales of about $2.6 billion and a staff of about 9,200 in 25 countries.
