Rupert Campbell, a 54-year-old British national who has been running Adidas’ operations in Russia and the CIS countries since 2018, is set to succeed Zion Amstrong as president of Adidas North America from next Jan. 1, reporting to Roland Auschel, executive board member in charge of global sales. Adidas’ CEO, Kaspar Rørsted, made the announcement while commenting on the group’s strong results for the second quarter, saying that Amstrong wanted to rejoin his family in New Zealand. He has been in the post since July 2018. After working for Dixons for five years, Campell joined Adidas in 2012 as retail director for Northern Europe. He upgraded to senior vice president of retail for all of Europe in the next year. Adidas said that it increased its market leadership in Russia/CIS during Campbell’s tenure, growing at a double-digit rate. Amstrong, 46, has been with Adidas since 1998. He became brand manager at Adidas North America in 2014. Since then, sales in that key market have more than doubled.
