The board of the Fair Labor Association (FLA) has voted to accredit the social compliance program of Fanatics Brands, the private-label division of Fanatics, which manufactures its products at its own directly operated facilities in Tampa, Florida, Easton, Pennsylvania, and Norman, Oklahoma, sourcing from 94 contracted facilities across 17 countries. The accreditation recognizes that “Fanatics Brands has systems in place to identify and remediate unfair labor practices in its global supply chain,” the FLA said. Accreditation from FLA is the result of a lengthy review of a company’s social compliance program against international labor standards. In its report on Fanatics Brands, the FLA noted, among others, that the company’s social compliance program involves 11 global staff members, with regional managers in six countries, and that the company publishes its labor standards commitments online, thereby reinforcing its obligations. The accreditation body also noted that Fanatics Brands has an extensive social compliance training program for its staff, which includes a required introductory training on responsible purchasing practices for all members as well as quarterly and annual sessions on workplace standards. Fanatics, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, specializes in licensed fan apparel for popular leagues, brands and collegiate and professional teams around the world.
