Sweaty Betty, the U.K.-based brand of women’s fitness apparel, saw its turnover rise by 45 percent in 2021 compared to 2020, with revenues for the full year reaching £183.2 million (€212.3 million), mainly as a result of the strong trading performance across its digital channels. Physical shops continued to be impacted by pandemic measures, with stores closed from January to April due to a pandemic-related lockdown, but digital sales came to the rescue. By geography, 67 percent of the revenues came from the U.K., down from 70 percent in 2020. Sales in the U.S. accounted for 21 percent of revenues, down from 22 percent, while 12 percent came from the rest of the world, up from 8 percent in 2020. Net profit rose marginally, from £11.0 million (€12.8 million) to £11.5 million (€13.3 million). Wolverine Worldwide acquired sweaty Betty on Aug. 2, 2021.
